Patrick Chavis was born in Lynwood, Ca and grew up in-between Los Angeles and Orange County. Patrick graduated from Cal State University, Fullerton (2008) in Print Journalism. Though, Patrick was a print major he excelled in making video multimedia projects for the newspaper and soon became the multimedia editor for the school. When not working for the paper, Patrick would write screenplays and short films for fun with friends.

After school he interned at G4TVs Tech show “Attack of the Show” and found his passion working in Television and Film. Patrick has work for E! News International writing segments. He’s also worked in the corporate industry creating promotional videos and documentaries for companies
Patrick has an impressive array of independently produced and directed films. His first film “Coffeeshop Philosophers” (2009) a short film about coffee shop culture had an impressive festival run, showing at Columbia Gorge Film Festival, Palm Spring International Film Festival and AOF Film Festival, where the film was nominated for Best Comedy Scene.  After Coffeeshop Philosopher, Patrick took on an ambitious project producing the short film “To Sleep & Dream”(2010), a suspenseful thriller following the characters spirit and body six minutes before his death. To Sleep & Dream premiered at the San Diego Black Film Festival as well as the Erie Spirit Quest Film Festival in Pennsylvania. The film was also the featured short of the week on

After finishing production on another short film After the Credits Roll (2012) staring former UFC fighter Kimo Leopoldo. Patrick decided to get back into the directors chair and shoot his first feature film Rules of the Trade (2012).  A suburban crime drama about an intelligent but lonely drug dealer who’s unlucky in love until he meets the love of his life on an online dating site. Patrick with the help of an excellent crew shot the entire feature film in 15 days over a period of three months.
